Visiting Scholars
The Visiting Scholar Program of the Department of Sociology (VSP)
Provides temporary appointments to visiting researcher scholars and visiting student researchers (see below) to conduct sociological research under the guidance of our faculty members. The VSP is a unique research opportunity that emphasizes international collaborations and exchanges, cross-cultural research, and a wider global vision. In recent years, the Department of Sociology has accommodated several visiting scholars from around the world who completed global-local research projects and shared their research with our faculty members and students. We believe that the VSP will be a long-term and expanding project at our department. Given the limited space and availability of faculty members, all applicants to the VSP have to pass a merit-based screening.
From a Previous Visitor:
"I thank you for the wonderful time in the frame of my visiting scholar opportunity at the Department of Sociology, UCCS. This was an opportunity for me to meet great researchers and internationalize my view of the history of sexuality combined with Catholicism and the history of the Polish state. An article, "The Foucauldian Governmentality of Self and Others: Cases of Homosexual Clergy During the Communist Period" is a result of this stay. I hope that it will be published by the end of this year."
