Dukes-Hall Research Grant
The Dukes-Hall Fund allocates financial support for qualitative and quantitative research activities for students in the Department of Sociology. Funds can be used for research travel, such as to archives or research sites, equipment related to research (including analytical software), and for other resources necessary to support the completion of research projects.

Sociology Graduate Student Emergency Award
The Sociology Department has established a Graduate Student Emergency Award to help students while in graduate school experiencing a financial catastrophe that hinders their ability to complete the MA degree. A student can request up to $1,000. The department will pause this award upon depletion of funds.
Criteria to Apply
A graduate student in the Sociology program or the MPA/ Sociology MA Dual Degree program
In good academic standing
Have experienced a financial catastrophe that leaves the student potentially unable to pay key bills, including rent/mortgage, groceries, or childcare, that constrains their ability to continue in the MA program
Application Process
Write a 1-2 page statement explaining your financial catastrophe and how this impedes your ability to complete the MA degree
Please submit the statement via email to both the current Graduate Director and Chair of the Sociology Department
Students may apply at any time during the calendar year while enrolled in the Sociology Graduate Program

As a benefit, residents of WICHE’s 16 member states and territories throughout the Western U.S. can attend UCCS’s graduate program in sociology, paying in-state tuition (waiving non-resident fees)
